Day 14: 2012 LEGO Star Wars & City Advent Calendar: Confusion

Star Wars on the left and City on the right. So how would a light saber holder actually hold the saber by the beam?!? That is how the instructions say to assemble it. Secondly, just what is the City model? A brown box and two flames? Is that part of a construction site? Use the comments below and DISCUSS!
